Grit & Legacy: The Sackett Sagas
The Sackett story doesn't end with us. It’s still being written — and yours belongs here too.
Grit & Legacy: The Sackett Sagas uses our family’s nearly 400-year legacy as the foundation to tell the real stories of Americans who are building their own family legacies with the same courage, faith, and determination.
Our Mission
For nearly 400 years the Sackett family has lived by one simple code: show up, keep your word, and build something that outlasts you.
We created Grit & Legacy: The Sackett Sagas to use that foundation as a platform to shine a light on other Americans who are doing the exact same thing — clearing their own land, raising strong families, and writing the next chapter of the American Dream with nothing but grit and heart.
This isn’t just another docuseries. It’s a living celebration of real people, real sacrifices, and real legacies being built right now.
Episode 1: Fernando Nava & Rusty Wheel Ranch
From generations of ranchers to building his own slice of heaven — Fernando’s story is the first chapter.
In the premiere episode, we sit down with our good friend Fernando Nava of Rusty Wheel Ranch in Florence, Arizona.
Fernando grew up around the animals, the land, and the hard work that carried his family through every season of life. Today he’s using that same spirit to build something lasting — turning raw Arizona land into a working ranch that will support his family for generations to come.
You’ll hear the real struggles, the early mornings, the late nights, the faith it takes to keep going, and the quiet pride of knowing you’re building something that outlasts you.

Fernando Nava - Rusty Wheel Ranch
EPISODE 1
Fernando Nava – Owner, Rusty Wheel Ranch
A husband, father, and rancher who chose the harder path — building something lasting for his family with his own hands and the same Grit that carried his grandfather and father. His story is a powerful reminder that the American Dream is still alive and well on American soil.
Dave Alford - Scottsdale Rodeo
EPISODE 2
Dave Alford grew up in Old Town Scottsdale when horses still outnumbered cars on the streets. What started as a young boy’s love for rodeo became a lifelong mission to protect the heart and soul of the American West.
As the founder of the Scottsdale Rodeo Museum and longtime steward of the historic Parada del Sol and Rodeo Scottsdale, Dave has dedicated decades to keeping the real stories alive — the volunteers who built the events, the cowboys and cowgirls who risked everything in the arena, and the families who kept the traditions going through good times and hard ones.
In Episode 2 of Grit & Legacy, Dave opens up about the hard work, sacrifice, and deep love it takes to safeguard a piece of America’s Western soul for future generations — one rodeo, one story, and one act of quiet grit at a time.
